ABOUT STEVE

At the age of 28, through guidance and exploration of his natural abilities, passions and life callings, Steve already knows much about his main life dedication - to heal others by evoking greater inner peace through music and teaching. Brought into this world with an innate musical voice, a natural affinity for sincere communication, as well as a gift for dramatic pause, Steve's compositions contain a unique balance of emotional depth, sincerity and easy listenability. Silent Music is essentially Steven's musical gifts in it's purest form. 

Born in Canada, and raised mostly in BC, Alberta and the Yukon, Steven was surrounded with some of our world's greatest natural beauties - the white crests of the Rocky Mountains, the dancing aurora borealis of the northern night sky, the raging Yukon rivers, the old growth in BC's rainforest...all of which evoked inspiration of various kinds. As a connected being, Steve's music comes much in the present as a direct reflection of life experiences followed by the embodiment of its teachings. There cannot be enough said for an upbringing in an amazing environment, along with the family support to openly explore and express. Steve was blessed with these two qualities with further supported his life direction and dedication; gratitude reveals further understanding as well as the desire to share with others.

Through studying Music Composition at the UBC School of Music, Steve developed the capacity to understand the science of music as well as how to communicate it. Also calling him at this time was an intense study, and practice of spirituality which balanced the intellectual focus at UBC. His emotional palette was also intensively explored during the 5-week The Canadian National Voice Intensive. All this was brought together by a massive journey around the world and back where Steve, as a way of healing a rare auto-immune disease, surrendered to the desires of his heart in every moment for 60 days. As Steve quotes:

"...upon my journey to surrender to the desires of my heart, the first thing I realized is that my heart needed healing. It had been ignored and buried for so long through rational discipline and suppression. The second realization was that the heart's intuition is aligned with a greater divine plan. The most evidential relevancy was realized when my actions seemingly became the answers to people's prayers - I would show up and say the right things at exactly the right time. The most outstanding was a suicidal mother who hadn’t practiced will (prayer) for 4 years until that day where I showed up and held her in tears. She was completely transformed – it was the demands of my heart that guided me to these actions. The last thing realized is that the heart, and therefore the divine plan, wants simply to bring happiness and health to all living things that require one’s assistance. It wasn’t until this journey that I realized I was really important to this world, with much to offer, much to learn, and most of all…I was to teach others of this way."

And thus Silent Music was gracefully born, and as Steven played for those in his hostel, a clear and direct demand was universal - Silent Music had power…and it needed to be recorded and shared. Throughout his months travelling, Steven was able to fine tune Silent Music as a different audience responded differently every night, however, greater inner peace was always the result. Although finely tuned, Silent music is still evolving in its form as well as its applications. 

Also in Steven’s repertoire of achievements is a full length musical play called Momentum Crest which is in its final stages of completion and review. Steven is also working a book in his spare time which explores how the universe is always moving to achieve a state of greater balance. 0=infinity=1 – The Equation for Unity and Balance explores and expresses how one can find greater unity, balance and peace in their own lives. Steven also takes much pride in his work as a teacher, as he has studied with some of the greatest teachers in the world. Teaching music and spirituality, and often combining the two, is of great importance for him. Although it takes the right type of person to fully embody his teachings, those who connect embody a great amount very quickly. Steven is also available for live performance, which is where the greatest realizations of peace are communicated.
